On May 8, 2023 La Familia Central Valley celebrated its Open House and Ribbon Cutting with community partners, elected officials, community members, along with La Familia leadership and staff.
Led by Aaron Ortiz, CEO of La Familia and Manuel J. Jimenez, Jr. Regional Director, we celebrated all of the growth that La Familia Central Valley has had over the past three years and the excitement of what is to come as we continue La Familia’s mission to provide underserved multicultural communities with the tools and support necessary to build resilience, wellness, and economic power.
During the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, La Familia Central Valley recognized Congressman Josh Harder and Jeffrey Lewis, CEO/President of Legacy Health Endowment for their commitment to and advocacy for ensuring that all those in California’s Central Valley have access to high-quality, culturally appropriate mental health care when they need it. Both Harder and Lewis were honored with plaques dedicated to them on counseling rooms in the clinic.
La Familia Central Valley was also presented with certificates of recognition on behalf of:
- Congressman John Duarte, 13th District, California
- Congressman Tom McClintock, 5th District, California
- Senator Anna M. Caballero, 14th District, California
- Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil, 4th District, California
- Assemblyman Juan Alanis, 22nd Assembly District, California
- Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors
Following the ceremony, all were invited to meet our staff and leadership as well as tour La Familia Central Valley’s clinic and see first hand where all of our services are provided.
It was a great day celebrating a wonderful milestone with our community!
