LaFamilia Central Valley Services

HIGH-QUALITY, CULTURALLY SENSITIVE COUNSELING & OTHER SUPPORTS WITH YOU IN MIND

We know that life can be stressful, especially when people are struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. It can be especially hard and frightening when it is your children who need support.

Navigating the systems and finding a counselor that feels like a good fit and speaks your language can be overwhelming. We work with families to provide counseling, case management and promotor(a) services for adults and children in a variety of settings. Additionally, we can provide psychiatry services and other support when necessary.

We can help you through difficult emotions and experiences, create new habits, and find a plan that gets you where you want to be. We partner with many schools in Stanislaus and Merced Counties to work with kids and families on campus. We also partner with different community organizations to ensure that high-quality mental health services are available to all through integrative and innovative programming.

The help you need is never more than a phone call away.

Our Programs

School Based Services

Mental health counseling and case management services for students and their families. Staff Therapists and Promotor(a)s are integrated into local school districts throughout Stanislaus & Merced Counties in order to provide necessary mental health services directly to students and their families. Helping students when they first need it, right where they are.

Child & Adolescent Counseling

Adolescence and young adulthood are crucial times in the development of children, especially when it comes to their mental health. Our child & adolescent counseling services give kids and their families the tools to cope with and work through their mental health concerns early. This early intervention with our experienced mental health staff helps to develop a strong foundation for their futures, setting them up for success.

Adult Counseling

Anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship and family problems are all common concerns that adults face. But often, other things such as children and work take priority, and adults put their mental health on the back burner. It is ok to ask for help, and our clinicians are here to help you.  After an initial assessment, our clinicians will determine a treatment plan that best suits your needs and goals.

Older Adults

As we age, we experience a lot of change, loss, and loneliness. All these things can affect a person’s mood, outlook on life, and overall mental health. Our Older Adult services empower individuals 60+ years old, their caregivers, and families by providing counseling, case management, and linkage to services such as food and clothing services. It is our goal to help older adults age with dignity and achieve a level of well-being that improves their quality of life. Thanks to a generous grant from the Covenant Ministries of Benevolence, this service is FREE for qualifying individuals.

Un Paso Adelante

Comprehensive mental health programming for schools with the purpose of reducing school violence. A three tiered approach integrates school-wide mental health programming and supports, 1:1 mental health services, and small group programming utilizing the El Joven Noble curriculum created by the National Compadres Network.

We Care Program

Case Management services to homeless individuals in Turlock. Services are provided at We Care Program at 211 S. Broadway, Turlock and are available to individuals whether or not they are staying at the We Care Shelter. Assistance includes but is not limited to: housing, food benefits, clothing, employment assistance, SSI benefits, etc.

Enhanced Care Management (ECM)

ECM offers extra services at no cost to Medi-Cal members who have complex needs and challenges that make it hard to improve their health. La Familia’s team works individually with each member and their support system to help establish a care plan that addresses all aspects of a member’s health and well-being and supports them on their journey to self-reliance. These services are available to those enrolled with Central California Alliance for Health in Merced County, and HealthNet and Health Plan of San Joaquin in Stanislaus County.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)

An innovative collaborative partnership between La Familia’s Mental Health Specialist and the City of Gustine Police Department to provide specialized crisis response services to individuals facing potential mental health and/or substance abuse issues. The CIT will utilize evidence-based interventions and link clients to appropriate services to prevent higher levels of care while fostering community trust and safety.
